Compsognathus, meaning 'elegant jaw', was one of the smallest known dinosaurs - about the size of a chicken. Despite its tiny size, it was an agile and fast predator, hunting small lizards, insects, and other tiny prey. For over a century, it held the record as the smallest known dinosaur.
